Why is the YSR said to have 105 problem items when the item numbers go to 112?
Answer: The YSR has the same problem items as the CBCL, except that (a) has no open-ended item 113, and (b) 14 CBCL problem items deemed inappropriate for adolescent self-reports are replaced with socially desirable items, as indicated in Figure 1-2. The omission of open-ended item 113 and the 14 other problem items results in 105 problem items rather than the 120 that are on the CBCL.
