Technical Support for ASEBA® Software Products
If respondents fill out the forms, won’t this cause them to focus on the individual’s problems instead of family or marital relationships?
Answer: When people seek help, they expect to provide information about the problems for which help is sought. The forms are not likely to instigate an exclusive focus on the individual, because family data will typically be obtained as well. The practitioner’s own approach and the specific referral problems usually outweigh the forms in determining the degree of focus on the individual vs. family or marital relationships.
