Can homecare providers and babysitters fill out the C-TRF?
Answer: Homecare providers and babysitters who see a child’s behavior in a group of at least four children would usually be appropriate for completing the C-TRF. Because four C-TRF items specifically refer to relations with other children, caregivers, and babysitters who do not see a child’s interactions with other children would not have a basis for rating these items, but could probably rate most other items adequately. For homecare providers and babysitters who do not see children in groups but who can report on their sleeping and toileting problems, the CBCL/1-5-5 may be an appropriate alternative.
