Should there be separate norms for mothers’ and fathers’ CBCL/1.5-5 ratings or for different ethnic groups?
Answer: As detailed in Chapter 8, differences between the mean scale scores obtained from mothers’ and fathers’ ratings did not exceed chance expectations. As detailed in Chapter 9, ethnic differences on scale scores did not exceed chance expectations. Socioeconomic differences were somewhat larger but were too small compared to the differences between referred and non-referred children to warrant separate norms.
