For longitudinal research, how can deviance on the preschool scales be analyzed in relation to deviance on the school-age scales scored later for the same children?
Answer: The profiles for all the instruments provide criteria for classifying scores as being in the normal, borderline, or clinical range. If children are grouped into these categories according to their preschool scores and their subsequent school-age scores, relations between the earlier and later classifications can be analyzed via chi-square, kappa, odds ratios, and correlational statistics.
